Commission adopts special measures to increase interconnection between Ireland and Britain

Today, the Commission approved exemptions from rules on regulated pricing and access for two new electricity interconnectors between the United Kingdom and Ireland. At long last: A good European Directive for the Promotion of Renewable Energies as Christmas Present for Europe

It was a long and winding road over many months towards the clear vote of the European Parliament on December 17 2008 for a new Directive for the promotion of renewable energies.
